The Umlazi Mega City upgrade offers the expanding community the ultimate shopping experience, with a relevant tenant mix and quality facilities in order to further contribute to the
economic development of the area. The redevelopment added 19,000m2 of retail space to the site, taking the total lettable area to almost double the existing size. The expansion includes increasing parking to 1370 bays, with improved traffic flow on site. Some of the improved facilities as part of the redevelopment include an air-conditioned food court, upgraded ablution facilities, a new and larger taxi rank and a customer service initiative that rewards shoppers for their loyalty. The revitalised tenant offers shoppers convenience, variety and quality. As part of the redevelopment, existing tenants including Spar, Woolworths, Clicks, Mr Price and Truworths revamped their stores and new stores were added to the mix.
